Terms of use
Last updated: 18 July 2026
The service
1099Local is a free, browser-based tax estimator. It is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose. Use it at your own discretion.
Estimates, not advice — read this one
Everything on this site — the calculator’s output and every page of writing — is general information and planning-grade estimation, not tax, legal or accounting advice for your situation. The estimator models federal taxes with deliberate, documented simplifications; it does not model state taxes, many credits and deductions, or unusual situations, and tax law changes. Figures are compiled from official sources and dated, but they can go stale or contain errors. Verify against irs.gov or a credentialed tax professional before making decisions — especially payments to tax authorities. You remain responsible for your own tax filings and payments; we accept no liability for consequences of relying on this site.
Your data
Numbers you enter are processed on your device and never transmitted to us — we acquire no copy of, access to, or rights over anything you type here (see the privacy policy).
Not the IRS
1099Local is an independent website with no affiliation to the IRS, the SSA, or any government agency. References to their forms and rules are descriptive. Payments to the IRS happen on irs.gov, never here — this site never asks for payment, card details, an SSN, or login credentials of any kind, and a page that appears to is not this site.
Acceptable use
Don’t attempt to disrupt the site, and don’t present its output as professional advice to others — it isn’t, and saying so is the deal. That’s the whole list.
Changes
These terms may be revised; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
